Early Life & Education

Dr. Ray is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a lifetime attendee of the Jenks School System. Following graduation, he
attended the University of Oklahoma, earning a BS in microbiology while also studying Spanish. In his second year, he met his future wife, Allison. After college, Dr. Ray attended the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, where he graduated first in his class and received numerous awards.

Surgical Training & Publications

After dental school, Dr. Ray and his wife moved to Richmond, Virginia for residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery through the Medical College of Virginia within the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. During this time, Dr. Ray contributed to articles published in key journals and textbooks in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and The Atlas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Professional Career

After completing residency, the Rays moved back to Tulsa to join Eastern Oklahoma Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Ray practices at both EOOMS locations – in Broken Arrow and in Owasso.

He has hospital privileges at Hillcrest South and is a clinical assistant professor for the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in Tulsa.

He is board-certified by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of:

Clinical Interests

Dr. Ray graduated first in his class at OU College of Dentistry. At OU dental school he was selected for the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society and received several accolades, including:

  •  Alpha Omega academic achievement award
  • American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery dental student award
  • William Kramer award of excellence
  • American College of Dentists’ outstanding student leader
  • Outstanding senior leadership award for dentistry

Within the scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Ray’s greatest areas of interest are the removal of wisdom teeth, placement of dental implants, bone grafting, and orthognathic surgery.

Personal Life

Outside of work, Dr. Ray’s greatest joy comes from time with his wife, three kids, and two dogs.

Dr. Ray also enjoys being outside in any capacity, whether taking walks with his family, participating in triathlons, or any form of competition.

More than anything else,  Dr. Ray seeks to conform his family and work life to honoring Jesus and pointing to Him through his words, actions, and interactions. His favorite Bible verses are 2nd Corinthians 5:20-21
