Meet Christopher Ray, DDS

Oral Surgeon in Broken Arrow & Owasso OK

Dr. Ray was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a lifetime attendee of the Jenks School System, graduating in 2009. He then attended the University of Oklahoma and earned a BS in microbiology and studied Spanish as well.

During his time at OU, he met his future wife, Allison. The two graduated together in 2013, got married, and moved to Oklahoma City to attend dental school at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. While completing dental school, the Rays added two dogs to their family.

Although Dr. Ray’s interest in dentistry was inspired by his father, Dr. Kevin Ray, he developed interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery during the head and neck portion of anatomy in dental school. He subsequently spent time shadowing his future colleagues at Eastern Oklahoma Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, converting his interest in the specialty into the pursuit of residency training.

He graduated OU dental school in 2017 and moved to Richmond, Virginia to train at Virginia Commonwealth University. While in Richmond, Dr. Ray and Allison were closely involved in their church and community amidst completion of full scope training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. In the last year of residency, their family was blessed with the addition of their daughter, Emma.

Dr. Ray graduated first in his class at OU College of Dentistry. At OU dental school he was selected for the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society and received several accolades including the Alpha Omega academic achievement award, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery dental student award, William Kramer award of excellence, American College of Dentists outstanding student leader, and the outstanding senior leadership award for dentistry.

Since returning to Oklahoma, the Rays have enjoyed reconnecting with family and friends in the Tulsa area. Dr. Ray practices at both EOOMS locations-Broken Arrow and Owasso, and he has hospital privileges at Hillcrest South. He is a member of American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Oklahoma Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Tulsa County Dental Society.

Dr. Ray uses Colossians 3:23-24 to guide his life: “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.”
